WHAT IS VAMPIRE HAIR RESTORATION ®?
This 3 treatment protocol offers sub-dermal and intra-dermal therapy for preventing or reducing hair loss. It has great potential to stimulate the growth of hair follicles for both men and women. The growth factors in the platelets stimulate the follicles to grow hair. The hair follicles in the resting phase (telogen) may be pushed into growth, and this will appear as new hair growth. Treatment will not cause new hair follicles to grow where there were none before. Treatment will stimulate neo-vascularization and new cell growth.

During this patented, non-surgical procedure, your own PRP is injected with a small needle into your scalp and applied during micro- needling. THE PROCEDURE
This quick procedure involves the collection, concentration and application of your body’s own platelets using a very easy 6-step process.
Step 1
A small amount of blood is collected and is placed into a centrifuge.
Step 2
After 10 minutes of centrifugation, the platelets are concentrated and drawn up into a syringe.
Step 3
The scalp is numbed and cleansed lightly.
Step 4
Using a tiny needle, PRP is injected strategically into your scalp in the areas that need improvement.
Step 5
The scalp is micro-needled and PRP serum is now applied in the micro channels.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
The entire session takes about 1 hour.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE RECOMMENDED?
Although results can be sufficient in 1 treatment, the treatment protocol involves 3 sessions in order to best restore the health of the hair follicles. To maintain optimal results, we usually recommend 1 treatment per year to maintain the health of the hair follicles.

IS THE PROCEDURE PAINFUL?
No. Local anesthetic is used. Treatment is comfortable and well tolerated by most.
Some patients may experience temporary mild discomfort during treatment for 10 minutes at most.

Yes. It is a safe procedure without any common side effects. PRP treatments are considered completely safe and natural as you are using growth factors from your own body with a sterile technique, so there is almost no chance of blood infection or an adverse immune response.
WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM VAMPIRE HAIR RESTORATION?
The treatment not only promotes hair growth but also strengthens hair follicles. Treatment can stimulate hair follicles to produce longer, thicker and healthier hair fibers. While it doesn’t actually regrow new hair follicles, it works well to reverse the miniaturization of hair follicles that happens with male or female pattern baldness.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Patients may notice a fuzz appearance after one session. Results are becoming noticeable within eight weeks following treatment but may take 6-12 months for full improvement.
IS THERE ANY RECOVERY TIME?
No. There is no downtime or any long recovery process. You shouldn’t wash your hair until the day after treatment. Then you can wash and style it as your normally do. In addition, it is advised to avoid using any harsh dyes or chemicals on your hair for 48 hours. You may experience some discomfort, redness, tightness of the scalp, and light swelling from the injections/micro-needling for 1-2 days, which can be managed with an analgesic like Tylenol. This generally resolves within 48 hours. It is best to avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS, if possible.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?
The results of this procedure typically last 1-2 years, but this varies based on many factors. Results have been maintained without additional injections for up 2 years in many patients Research on the effectiveness, safety and satisfaction of this procedure are positive. Research on the longevity of this treatment are ongoing.

WHO CAN’T OPT FOR VAMPIRE HAIR RESTORATION®?
Though treatment yields great results for people suffering from hair thinning, it’s not for everyone. People who have lost all hair cannot undergo this treatment as it does not help grow new hair follicles on a bald patch. It can only make the existing thinning hair thicker by strengthening the hair follicles.
IS THIS A CURE FOR BALDNESS?
Vampire Hair Restoration® is not a cure for baldness. The genetic medical problem will always remain. However, there is evidence that regular treatments can significantly slow down the effects of Androgenic Alopecia and works to increase hair density.
WHAT IS ALOPECIA AREATA AND DOES VAMPIRE HAIR RESTORATION® HELP GROW HAIR?
Alopecia areata is considered an autoimmune disease, in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the hair follicles, the structures from which hairs grow.
Although there is no cure for alopecia areata, treatment can help stimulate hair growth, however; PRP will not prevent new patches or actually cure the underlying disease.
DOES INSURANCE COVER TREATMENT?
No. Treatment is considered cosmetic and elective. Insurance companies do not cover the cost of this treatment.
COST OF PROCEDURE
The cost of the 3 treatment protocol is $2700.
Single touch up maintenance treatment is $1000. Consider a maintenance treatment as often as 1 time every 1-3 months or throughout the year for best results.
*Each treatment includes 5-7cc PRP. Amount of PRP is dependant upon the amount produced from patient’s own blood in 2 Selphyl tubes. This is usually sufficient for a full treatment. Additional PRP ccs, if desired or needed, is charged $150 per tube.
HAIR LOSS
Many men and women experience hair loss as they age. And we are seeing more hair loss in women in their 20’s and 30’s than ever.
Thinning hair can be devastating for women and men of any age. Hair loss can cause depression and emotional issues, lead to low self-esteem, and inhibit quality of life.
Hair loss experienced with pregnancy, stress, and certain medications, is usually only temporary. It is normal to lose around 100 hairs a day, and this typically dose not result in thinning hair. - Inflammation, which can be from physical and emotional stress, leaky gut, adrenal dysfunction, insulin resistance, obesity, toxin exposure. Inflammation leads to decreased blood flow, oxygenation, and nutrient delivery and absorption at the level of the hair follicle, causing hair loss.

Androgenic Alopecia, which is a genetic condition, is the main type of hair loss in both women and men. In men, hair loss is characterized by a receding hairline. Women experience a thinning over the entire scalp and the crown.
We see significant hair loss in women who are testosterone deficient.
Many women with thinning hair report increased hair growth on testosterone pellet therapy.
Rarely, women with extremely high levels of androgens may experience hair loss if they genetically convert testosterone to DHT in the scalp/hair follicle. This side effect of testosterone replacement can be managed with the supplement Saw Palmetto (anti-inflammatory), or prescription medication Finasteride which decreases conversion to DHT (negative effect on libido can be a side effect).
